Mohamad Abdel-Rahman Joins Ammonite
Ammonite Resources is pleased to announce that Dr. Mohamad Abdel-Rahman has joined Ammonite as a Senior Exploration Advisor. "Mo", as his friends call him, brings a tremendous depth of experience to the firm's advisory skills portfolio - particularly in the Middle East and North Africa. Prior to becoming an independent consultant in 1999, Dr. Abdel-Rahman served as Regional Director of Middle Eastern, North African, and Eurasian exploration for Pennzoil Exploration and Production Company. As an employee of British Petroleum prior to joining Pennzoil, he served in such capacities as Deputy General Manager and Exploration Manager for BP Exploration in Egypt, and as Chief Representative, Middle East Business Development, based at BP's headquarters in London. Mo began his career in the petroleum industry with Shell Oil Company in Houston and New Orleans, and then worked for Sohio in Alaska, where he was at one time District Geologist for both North and South Alaska. When BP acquired Sohio in 1987, Mo was Manager Geological Technology in Dallas. Frontier oil and gas exploration and international new venture and license contract negotiations are his specialties.
Dr. Abdel-Rahman emigrated from Egypt to the United States in 1977, and is a naturalised US citizen. He received a B.Sc. degree in geology and M.Sc. degree in structural geology from Ain Shams University in Cairo, and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Geomorphology from the Sheffield University in England.
